TROUBLESHOOTING
RADIO ELECTRICS + REEL REWIND
Engine revs. too low.
Remedy – Increase engine revs to ¾ revs or 2400 RPM.
Drive belts slipping
Remedy – Adjust belts with the belt tensioner
Reel brake is adjusted too tight
Remedy – Adjust brake
- Switch (1) not “on” or faulty.
Remedy – Replace with 10amp fuse - Flat battery on unit 12V.
Remedy – Charge or replace. - (5SDM) Break in vehicle battery connection.
Remedy – Repair. - Blown fuse.
Remedy – Switch on or replace.
- Digital code not synchronised.
Remedy – 12 dip switches in transmitter must correspond with switches in radio receiver board. - Discharged transmitter battery.
Remedy – Replace 9 volt battery. - Wrong transmitter (9TBE only).
Remedy – R=right 27.195 MHz, L=left 27.145 MHz. - Faulty receiver or transmitter.
Remedy – Call factory for radio return authorisation form. 1800-645-688 .
- Discharged transmitter battery.
Remedy – Replace (216-9V). - Aerial broken or loose on base.
Remedy – Replace or tighten aerial. Finger tight only! If more than finger tight the coax cable will break inside the aerial base.. - Coax broken inside of aerial base.
Remedy – Replace the aerial base and coax cable. - Low 12V. on machine.
Remedy – Charge or replace battery. 12.5 voltage output allows optimum performance. - Faulty receiver or transmitter.
Remedy – Call factory for radio return authorisation form. 1800-645-688. - Interference from overhead power lines or other.
Remedy – Relocate the spraying system.
IMPORTANT NOTE.
Transmitters on “9TBE” & “9TDE” Twin reel units have two different built in frequencies. 27.145 MHz for the left side reel & 27.195MHz for the right reel. Therefore, you cannot re-code the digital dip switch on one side to work the other side.

PUMPS + PRESSURE CONTROLLERS
- Regulating valve not set for pressure
Remedy – set lever (8) to “press” and adjust knob (6) - Damaged or worn seat or spring in regulator
Remedy – replace with Sting repair kit or new spring - Sticking pressure regulator slide
Remedy – remove slide & lubricate with marine grease - Spray nozzle/s worn, missing, or exceed pump capacity
Remedy – replace Spray Nozzles with appropriate size
- One or more valves are not seating.
Remedy – clean or replace valves. - Sucking air through suction line or filter.
Remedy – examine and repair. - Air has not been entirely evacuated from pump.
Remedy – run pump with lever (8) on by-pass until all air is evacuated. - Blocked suction filter or valve closed.
Remedy – clean filter or open ball valve. - Motor to Pump drive belts loose /broken or Direct coupling damaged
Remedy – tension belts or replace, replace direct coupling sprockets and chain - Reputed spray hoses or fittings.
Remedy – repair or replace.

One or more valves are not seating.
Remedy – clean or replace valves. -
Diaphragm split (Oil will go milky)
Remedy – STOP PUMP! Replace (see pump manual) -
Air has not been entirely evacuated from pump.
Remedy – run pump with lever (8) on by-pass, until air is evacuated -
Sucking air through suction line or filter.
Remedy – examine and repair -
Oil level is low.
Remedy – top up with 20W/30

Remedy – replace. -
Sticking regulator slide
Remedy – remove slide & lubricate with marine grease -
Spray nozzles worn, missing, or exceed the pump capacity
Remedy – replace nozzles with appropriate size. -
Main drive belts slipping.
Remedy – tension belts or replace, replace direct coupling sprockets and chain. -
Leaking hoses or fittings.
Remedy – repair or replace
- Oil level is low.
Remedy – top up with 20W/30 - Sucking air or air in pump.
Remedy – examine and repair. - Blocked filter.
Remedy – clean filter.
One or more diaphragms are split.
Remedy – STOP PUMP IMMEDIATELY & replace diaphragms
Worn safety valve (Pressure adjusted to high.)
Remedy – replace safety valve.
The pump oil you need is SAE 30. You can purchase this from any auto parts store.
If you have water in the oil glass on the pump, you have ruptured your pump diaphragms and they will need to be replaced. If you continue to run your unit with ruptured diaphragms it will seize the pump and at that point, the pump will need to be replaced. Give us a call and we’ll be happy to help! 1800 645 688
No, you can’t. You need to make sure the chemicals you are using are compatible with the diaphragms in your pump and pressure controller. If not, you will need to upgrade to Desmopan or Viton diaphragms to help with wear and tear.
